Fraa Erasmas

First Appearance and Context

Fraa Erasmas is an avout within the Decenarian Math at the Concent of Saunt Edhar. He is first seen accompanying Fraa Orolo in the New Library to interview an artisan from Extramuros admitted shortly before an opening. Around the current Apert, he is present as the water‑driven works begin opening the gates and spectators gather outside the walls.

Roles/Actions and Affiliations

• Serves as amanuensis to Fraa Orolo during structured conversations with visiting artisans and in lessons, recording exchanges carefully under the Discipline.
• Performs practical duties in the math, including serving on the clock‑winding team during Provener, as well as kitchen and garden foraging when needed.
• At the opening of the gates, he follows the water from aqueduct to bridge and observes the mechanism that turns the driveshaft to swing the doors. He greets Artisan Quin and speaks briefly with Quin’s son about the bridge and its universal joints.
• Arranges to go extramuros with Fraa Jesry during the ten‑day opening.
• Aware of and attentive to guidance from senior offices such as the Warden Fendant regarding preparations and conduct around Apert.

• Mentor: Fraa Orolo, who involves him in interviews and lessons and for whom Erasmas serves as amanuensis.

Selected for the winding duty, he shows physical capability and attention to rules. He is eighteen and part of a cohort of fids collected from extramuros and graduates of the Unarian community.

Active within the Decenarian Math at the Concent of Saunt Edhar. As the gates open at the current Apert, he interacts with visitors at the Day Gate and is preparing to go extramuros in the company of Fraa Jesry.
