Suur Trestanas

First Appearance and Context

Suur Trestanas is first noted inside the Cloistered precincts when she assigns penance—hand-weeding the herb beds during the hottest part of the season—to Fraa Lio after he failed to take his turn winding the great clock at Provener. She is also seen seated among the hierarchs during Provener, occupying the Regulant’s chair to the right of the Primate in the chancel of the Mynster, with the Warden Fendant to the left.

Appointment and Residence

Following the aut of Regred for the previous office-holder, the Primate named Suur Trestanas as Warden Regulant. Upon taking the office she moved to the Primate's Compound and began taking meals with the hierarchs.

Description and Role

As the Warden Regulant, Trestanas enforces the Discipline within the math, upholds order, and assigns penances when duties are neglected. Her presence in the chancel during Provener underscores her role in formal rites and in maintaining the community’s daily obligations tied to the great clock.

Relationships and Affiliations

• Fraa Lio: Assigned a notable penance following a lapse in his clock-winding duty.
