First Appearance and Context

Fraa Lio is introduced as a peer within a Decenarian math alongside Fraa Erasmas, seen in communal settings and in the Mynster during rites leading up to and including Apert. He has been selected for the four‑person winding team that tends the great clock at Provener.

• Chooses the Order of the New Circle at Eliger and begins an internship in the Warden Fendant’s court under Fraa Delrakhones.

• During Tenth Night in the meadow, he slipped away from a tense exchange and encountered four uniformed visitors; using vlor with his bolt as a flexible tool, he swiftly disabled three without lethal force before a fourth’s weapon was neutralized when his spine‑clamp triggered. The Wardens responded on the scene; the Warden Fendant regarded the failure to alert others as an overlookable offense, while the Warden Regulant warned that brawling during Apert could merit severe sanction.

He habitually reaches for terms from Vale-Lore ("vlor") to frame situations, though he judged that such lore proved “useless” in the face of the street attack. After that assault, he bore a puffy, bleeding lip and bruising around one eye yet still pushed hard at Provener. He shows a tinkerer’s streak and pride in practical fixes (e.g., improving his wrap), and he is willing to subject his own gear to hard empirical tests. Soon after Eliger he appears with a freshly shaved head and a more formal, duty‑focused bearing.
