The Concent of Saunt Edhar is a walled mathic community named for Saunt Edhar. It stands at a high northern latitude—cited as the farthest from the equator among the major concents—and serves as the mother‑house and seat of the Edharian Order.

First Appearance and Context

Presented as a remote hermitage and active mathic center, the concent’s position near 51 degrees north became noteworthy when avout analyzed a sky‑borne object’s altered ground track that began passing over most inhabited latitudes, including this site. Study circles gathered to examine praxic diagrams and observations while routine life continued behind the screens of the Mynster.

Structures and Features

• Mynster and upper works: The great hall anchors rites and timekeeping; a small workroom near the belfry was darkened as a camera obscura for measurements. Access to the rooftop Starhenge is regulated and, during this period, remained closed by hierarch directive following an order affecting all concents.
• Millenarian crag: East of the main complex rises the crag supporting the Millenarian Math, home of the Thousanders, linked to the Mynster by a covered, hand‑carved stair.

• Red beam on the crag: One evening the Millenarian crag glowed with a grainy red light from above. The Thousanders made smoke to trace a narrow beam descending onto their walls; observers then sighted a fast‑moving red point arcing across the sky.
• Voco and departures: Bells rang for Voco at night; an unusually large set of names was read in the Mynster. Those Evoked were issued simple clothing and supplies and instructed to depart in small groups under cover, with a rendezvous arranged outside the walls and a destination set at a distant concent.

Current Status

Active and occupied. Access to the Starhenge remains closed under prior orders even as Evocations proceed. Many Evoked have left; those remaining continue studies and observational work within permitted areas.
