Concent of Saunt Edhar

First Appearance and Context

Shown as a remote, active mathic community at high northern latitude, the concent becomes the starting point for departures after bells ring for a large Voco. Evoked avout are outfitted simply and told to leave discreetly in small groups for an external rendezvous and onward travel.

Description and Location

The concent is a walled complex adjacent to a burgers’ town. A Day Gate opens onto a plaza crossed by a causeway between twin fountains. Inside, the narthex serves as an assembly space and houses an orrery of Arbre. A rooftop starhenge exists but remains closed by hierarch directive. The west side of the concent abuts industrial yards and a machine hall frequented by locals.

Structures and Features

  • Millenarian crag and stair: The Thousanders’ crag‑top community—the Millenarian Math—stands east of the main hall and is linked to it by a long, covered stair.
  • Day Gate and approach: The Day Gate faces the plaza; a straight causeway spans between twin fountains to the burgers’ town beyond.
  • Narthex and orrery: The narthex accommodates large gatherings; an orrery representing Arbre stands near the benches and is used as a focal point for meetings.
  • Year Gate precinct: Within this precinct stands the “Flying Wedge” tumulus and plaque commemorating a sortie during a past sack and naming the so‑called Three Inviolates.

Relationships and Affiliations

  • Namesake and orders: Named for Saunt Edhar; locally, the Thousanders inhabit the crag above the main hall.
  • Historical standing: Counted among the “Three Inviolates” remembered from the Third Sack, alongside Saunt Rambalf and Saunt Tredegarh.
  • Current directives: Those Evoked here have been told to travel toward a designated Convox at Saunt Tredegarh.

Current Status

Active and occupied. Many Evoked have departed in small groups; others remain within permitted areas. Overnight, a grainy red glow was seen illuminating the crag from above, similar to images shown of other distant maths. As inferred from Fraa Jad’s remark, the selection of Saunt Edhar, Saunt Rambalf, and Saunt Tredegarh in those images may be a signal relating to sites where the Sæcular Power once stored nuclear waste; this is presented here as conjecture rather than established fact.

Summary:

A walled mathic concent named for Saunt Edhar at high northern latitude. Recently, many avout here were Evoked under a large Voco and directed toward a Convox at Saunt Tredegarh; the crag‑top Millenarian Math was seen under a narrow red glow from above.
