Concent of Saunt Rambalf

First Appearance and Context

A night-time broadcast showed a distant view of a mathic stone tower lit from above by a grainy red glow. An elder avout, familiar with architectural drawings, identified it as the “Millenarians’ spire” at the Concent of Saunt Rambalf. In the same discussion, it was grouped with Concent of Saunt Edhar and Concent of Saunt Tredegarh as one of the “Three Inviolates,” i.e., concents regarded as having remained unviolated during the Third Sack.

Description and Location

Accounts from Edhar place Saunt Rambalf’s concent on another continent and note that it shares no orders in common with theirs; consequently, detailed knowledge from that vantage is limited. The site is known, at minimum, to include a prominent stone spire. As presently described, it is a mathic concent, with the usual precincts implied but not detailed in current sources.

Structures and Features

  • A tall stone spire visible from outside the walls; it was specifically identified by an observer as the “Millenarians’ spire,” based on prior drawings. This identification is presented as the observer’s recognition rather than a surveyed description.

Relationships and Affiliations

  • Eponym: Named for Saunt Rambalf.
  • Standing among peers: Counted with Saunt Edhar and Saunt Tredegarh among the “Three Inviolates,” a label used in Edhar’s lore for the few concents said to have remained unviolated in the Third Sack.

Current Status

  • Recently observed on a broadcast under a red illumination from the sky. The purpose of the display is not stated. One elder avout proposed that the selection of Edhar, Rambalf, and Tredegarh might indicate sites where the Sæcular Power stored nuclear waste; this is offered here as the avout’s conjecture, not established fact.
Summary:

A mathic concent named for Saunt Rambalf, recognized on a broadcast by avout as showing its stone spire under red illumination from the sky. It is cited alongside Saunt Edhar and Saunt Tredegarh as one of the "Three Inviolates" in accounts from Edhar.
