Thrania

Thrania is a broad, fertile plain invoked in historical accounts as the breadbasket of the Bazian Empire. It is associated with flat countryside and intensive agriculture across the “Plains of Thrania.”

First mention and context

Thrania is introduced when an avout proposes a long‑running botanical reenactment of the Battle of Trantae, using the concent’s meadow to stand in for the “Plains of Thrania” and the River Chontus to represent the northern boundary.

Geography and affiliations

  • Described as a flat, agriculturally rich region—the empire’s breadbasket.
  • Separated from the northern provinces by the river Chontus in historical narratives.

Historical note: Battle of Trantae

  • During a severe winter (Negative 1473), steppe forces of the Sarthian clan crossed the frozen river and established bridgeheads on the Thranian bank.
  • In the following campaigning season, General Oxas (after deposing the Imperator) marched to expel them; near Trantae, the Sarthians feigned a retreat, encircled the legions, and routed them. The defeat precipitated wider disasters for the empire.

Current status

Only historical and illustrative references are provided in current accounts; modern boundaries or conditions within Thrania are not described.
