Sammann

Overview

Sammann is an Ita technician from the Concent of Saunt Edhar. He handles rooftop instruments and photomnemonic data and, following recent Evocations, travels with an avout Peregrin group now heading north toward the mountains to seek Orolo.

Appearance and Traits

• Identified by Ita attire (including a tall black stovepipe hat) and a careful, procedural manner.
• Often hunched over his portable terminal ("super-jeejah"); carries a shoulder bag stocked with small tools and gadgets.
• Stoic and pragmatic: endures poor connectivity without complaint, cites the letter of instructions when handling sensitive information, and keeps leverage to protect himself.

Roles and Actions

• Rooftop maintenance and access: performs routine work around the starhenge and is trusted to retrieve and handle photomnemonic tablets.
• Tablet retrieval and copy: on a hierarch’s order, recovered a tablet from the Telescope of Saunts Mithra and Mylax and states he made a personal copy before delivering the original.
• Image work: applies syntactic de-blurring and, from instrument settings, offers size estimates and helps others notice structural details in the image.
• Relay and disclosure: reports that an Ita reticule relay carried an instruction from the Saecular Power to inform a cosmographer—bypassing hierarchs—which led him to alert Orolo.
• Travel support on the northern detour: rides with companions while consulting maps and references for navigation; proposes that he may be able to track Orolo; where reception is poor he still manages by drawing on tools from his kit. When outfitting for the trip he uses information on his terminal in lieu of money to help acquire supplies.

Relationships

• Professional connection to Orolo via rooftop observations and later direct notification about the sky-borne object; currently participates in a small party seeking him.
• Works alongside Fraa Erasmas during travel and planning, balancing caution with a willingness to help.
• Travels in company with extramuros allies (e.g., Ganelial Crade and Cord), whose differing approaches he counterbalances with technical focus.

Current Status

Journeying north into the mountains with the Peregrin detour, camping and continuing efforts to locate Orolo. He remains wary about his role in the chain of disclosures and potential repercussions.
