Rotha

Rotha is a younger hierarch on the Warden Regulant’s staff at the Concent of Saunt Edhar. She acts as recorder and clerk for Fraa Spelikon, using hierarch shorthand to transcribe interviews and organize documents.

First appearance and context

• Seen accompanying Spelikon in the Refectory. Soon after, she arranges a private interview with Fraa Erasmas in Saunt Zenla’s Chalk Hall, laying out materials and preparing to transcribe.

Role and duties

• Writes date and time headings and records proceedings in rapid shorthand.
• Sets out and manages manuscripts and evidence during inquiries, such as Erasmas’s journal (“Document Eleven”) and a transcript of the Orolo–Quin conversation (“Document Three”).
• Pauses or resumes the record on Spelikon’s cues.

Important actions

• Served as amanuensis while Spelikon questioned Erasmas about speelycaptor capabilities and prior notes relating to Fraa Orolo’s lines of inquiry.
