Fraa Holbane

Fraa Holbane is an avout in the Decenarian math at the Concent of Saunt Edhar. He is a Tenner and a close peer of Fraa Erasmas and Fraa Arsibalt.

First Appearance and Context

Holbane is first seen in a shared cell with Erasmas and Arsibalt on the morning when the gates open at sunrise during Apert. He rises first and joins his cellmates in preparing formal wraps before proceeding toward the Mynster for the music-led gathering as the Day, Year, and Decade gates descend and open.

Roles/Actions and Affiliations

• Tenner within the Decenarians at Saunt Edhar; he and his peers mark themselves with scarlet-lit spheres when moving through the dark on their way to the Mynster.
• Takes an active role in donning and stabilizing the formal wrap: he begins with his bolt made short, thick, and fuzzy for warmth, then lengthens it and works with his cellmates to wind, pleat, and knot it securely. Afterward he helps them finish their wraps as well.
• Present with the Tenners in the Mynster during the sunrise opening of the Day, Year, and Decade gates.
