First appearance and context

In this account, the figure is introduced via an entry in The Dictionary (4th edition, A.R. 3000), which describes him as a late Praxic Age metatheorician and leader of a like-minded group called the Circle. That entry places Proc during a brief stability between the Second and Third Harbingers, states that the Circle claimed symbols have no meaning and that discourse is a game of syntax, and notes he is assumed to have been liquidated in The Terrible Events.

Role and function

Following Reconstitution, Proc was made patron Saunt of the Syntactic Faculty of the Concent of Saunt Muncoster. He is viewed as the progenitor of orders tracing their lineage to that Faculty, contrasted with those of the Semantic Faculty, whose patron is named as Saunt Halikaarn.
