Diasps

The Diasps are one of four provisional labels used during the Convox for groups among the Geometers, the visitors currently in orbit over Arbre. The name is a human coinage and not a confirmed self‑designation.

Origin of the name

Observers note four planet icons associated with the visitors: prominently on the large vessel and on the four vials of red fluid recovered at Orithena. People have informally named the four after the apparent geography of those icons. “Diasps” refers to the set depicted with many islands, distinguishing it from the other nicknames (“Antarcts,” “Pangees,” and “Quators”).

Matter type and interpretations

Recent reports from Tredegarh describe tests indicating that each of the four recovered fluids has nuclei incompatible with Arbre’s matter and also mutually incompatible with each other. Many speakers take this as evidence that the visitors represent four groups originating from different cosmi or “worldtracks,” each with slightly different physical constants. An earlier, alternative idea—that a propulsion method altered matter locally—has lost favor in light of the new findings. These remain in‑story interpretations rather than established fact.

Status and usage

  • No individual has publicly been identified by the visitors themselves as a “Diasp”; the term is a working label used by avout and Sæculars for clarity in ongoing discussions.
  • The Diasps, like the other three labeled groups, are treated as part of the broader Geometer presence in orbit; intentions, internal structure, and preferred names remain unknown.
Summary:

One of four provisional human-coined labels for a distinct Geometer group, nicknamed from a planet icon showing many islands. In current discussions, the term denotes one of four mutually incompatible kinds of matter detected in recovered samples, with "Diasps" used for convenience pending any self-designation.
