Centenarian Math

First Appearance and Context

Centenarian Math is noted when describing the outer works of the concent: three bastions in the far wall house gates for the Unarian, Decenarian, and Centenarian maths. The waterworks that drive these portals can feed the Year, Decade, and Century systems; during the observed opening, the Year and Decade systems were charged while the Century system remained idle. The community is further situated as a neighbor across a meadow from the nearby Decenarian Math.

Roles/Actions and Affiliations

  • One of the maths within the broader mathic world, serving as the home and gathering place for the Centenarians and their rare opening on the hundred-year cycle associated with the Centenarian Gate.
  • Shares rites and space within the central Mynster; by arrangement, the south nave is reserved for Centenarian use.
  • During a Voco aut at the Mynster, the Sæcular Power Evoked Suur Bethula of the Edharian chapter; the rite featured a choir of Hundreders in the chancel.
  • Some avout (monastic scholars) describe being "hauled up" into the Centenarian or Millenarian Math by senior figures, suggesting a selective elevation for advanced work.

Relationships

  • Stands in close proximity to the Decenarian Math, with a meadow and wall marking the boundary between the two communities.
  • Part of the same Concent complex as other cohorts, participating in shared observances and mechanical gate operations alongside them.

Descriptions/Characteristics

  • The Centenarians’ side of the shared meadow is used for livestock, reflecting a more agrarian use of the nearby grounds compared to their neighbors’ garden plots and hay storage.
  • Approaches to the south nave of the Mynster are direct from their grounds, and the space is described as generously sized relative to their numbers.

Current Status/Location

Active within the concent. Its portal opens on the hundred-year cycle; during the most recently described opening, only the Year and Decade systems were actuated, while the Century system remained idle.

Summary:
