Command Torus

Not to be confused with Command.

The Command torus is a doughnut of offices, meeting chambers, and ring corridors wrapped around part of the Daban Urnud’s Core at a Nexus where multiple Orb access shafts meet. It serves as an administrative and coordination hub for the Command and is the most convenient venue for high-level meetings among communities living in the Orbstack.

Location and layout

  • Encircles a Core Nexus that sits beside the junctions leading to the head Orbs of each stack.
  • From this Nexus, shafts lead outward toward the Orbs used by the highest-ranking members of the four shipboard peoples: Urnudans, Troäns, Laterrans, and Fthosians.
  • Several hatches in the Core wall open into the torus; from outside, it presents as a doughnut-like wrapper of rooms and corridors.

Function

  • Houses offices and meeting spaces for the Command.
  • Provides a central place for inter‑cosmic coordination among representatives of the four peoples and their stacked Orbs.

Political condition

  • Reports describe the torus as divided due to conflict between the Pedestal and the Fulcrum. Some hatches have been locked, partitions erected or welded, guards posted, and connecting runs or cabling severed, creating unequal sectors under separate control.

First observed context

  • Described during a covert traverse of the ship’s Core while approaching the forward Nexus, when travelers noted its position around the Core and its association with Command offices.

Current status

  • Active as an administrative zone adjacent to the Core. Access is restricted and complicated by the ongoing Pedestal–Fulcrum division.
Summary:
