Orb 6

Orb 6 is one of the sixteen rotating habitation spheres that make up the Orbstack at the heart of the starship Daban Urnud. It belongs to the Troän set of orbs (numbered 5–8), which are occupied by Troäns.

Context and placement

• The Orbstack consists of sixteen hollow spheres arranged around a central axis that spins to provide pseudogravity. Four connected orbs are allocated to each of the four origin peoples.
• Within this arrangement, Orbs 5–8 form the Troän stack. By established shipboard convention, the lowest‑numbered orb in each stack (1, 5, 9, 13) stands at the head of that stack and houses the highest‑ranking members of its people; Orb 6 lies farther along the Troän stack beyond Orb 5.

Noted observations

• Orb 6 is referenced during movement through the ship’s interior, when Orbs 6 and 7 rotate past and the Core can be glimpsed between them. The orbs are marked with large numerals in the visitors’ script, aiding identification at a distance.

Characteristics and connections

• Like the other orbs in the Orbstack, Orb 6 is a rotating, pressurized habitat sphere linked to neighboring orbs and the Core by shafts and large valves. Routine movement between orbs occurs through pressurized corridors when conditions permit.

Status

• Orb 6 remains part of the Troän community’s living space within the Orbstack.
