Orb Four

Orb Four is one of the Urnudan orbs within the Orbstack of the starship Daban Urnud. It is described as the highest‑numbered of the Urnudan orbs—farthest aft, more residential, and lowest in the internal hierarchy, with senior command concentrated in Orb One. Access from the Core is via a vertical shaft and ladder system controlled by heavy ball‑valve engineering typical of the ship’s praxic style.

First appearance and context

Orb Four comes into focus when the Arbran delegation transits from the Laterran orbs through the Core to attend opening ceremonies hosted here by the Urnudans.

Description and features

• The inhabited surface follows the orb pattern of water and houseboats; in Orb Four the central plaza surrounds an elliptical pool of open water used for ceremonies.
• Four glass‑walled pavilions curve around the pool, with mezzanines for translators. Some pavilions are sealed “aquariums” accommodating Fthosians who do not use nose‑tube apparatus inside.
• Blue‑painted welded stairs descend from the sky structure to the plaza; stewards distribute earbuds for Orth and Fluccish translation.

• Belongs to the Urnudan stack (Orbs One–Four) aboard Daban Urnud.
• Functions as a center for meetings and formal gatherings coordinated by Urnudan and allied stewards.

Important actions and key beats

• Hosts the opening ceremonies for negotiations among delegations, including formal remarks by leaders and the signing of agreements on a barge in the meeting pool. Urnudan commander Gan Odru is among those who address attendees.
• Serves as the site where remains of four fallen Valers are ceremonially conveyed across the water and transferred to the Arbran delegation with honors.

Current status

Prepared and used as a diplomatic venue, with stewards, translators, and security managing access via the Core portal and the meeting plaza around the elliptical pool.
