Provener

Provener is a named hour observed inside the Mynster. It is announced by the chimes of the great clock and coincides with the duty of winding that clock. Visitors, when allowed, are positioned in the North Nave and must follow instructions under the Discipline.

First noted context

During a library conversation involving Fraa Orolo and an extramuros artisan, the clock began chiming Provener and an avout excused himself to go wind the clock. The visitor asked to see Provener and to record it with a speelycaptor. Permission to observe was handled under the Discipline with warnings issued under the authority of the Warden Regulant and placement deferred to the Ita.

Visitor recording and restrictions

A later clarification, relayed by another artisan, stated that the request to make a speelie of Provener was not permitted because the device in question was deemed too capable for use inside the Mynster. Fraa Orolo curtailed further discussion when it veered into prohibited topics concerning the Ita, underscoring that recording privileges are distinct from permission to observe and may be denied.
