Fraa Jesry

First Appearance and Context

Fraa Jesry is introduced as one of the Tenners in a Decenarian math during daily rites in the Mynster as the community prepares for Apert. He appears in the southwest corner used by the Tenners before entering the chancel for Provener. In recollection of an earlier late‑summer assignment to walk the meadow for prohibited plants, Jesry and Fraa Lio discovered a suspicious patch and attempted to control a spreading blaze; the episode was Chronicled as an accident, and they performed penance.

Description and Role

Jesry is a male avout ("fraa") in the Tenner cohort. In ceremony, he is seen already robed and organized, and shows an assertive, practical streak—comfortable leading through a crowded space when needed. He serves on the four‑person clock‑winding team during Provener alongside Fraa Erasmas, Fraa Lio, and Fraa Arsibalt, each manning one of the capstan poles in the chancel. Jesry later recounted details of the meadow fire to a peer; during that event he dragged Fraa Lio to safety and, in the process, abandoned his personal sphere. Since then, his sphere remains stiff in one place and never fully transparent.

Relationships and Functions

• Peer of Fraa Erasmas within the Tenners; they work together on the winding team in the Mynster.
• Works closely with Fraa Lio on both routine duties and the clock‑winding; their earlier fieldwork together culminated in the meadow fire incident.

Active among the Tenners in the Decenarian math. Participates in Provener and the daily winding of the clock in the Mynster. With Apert imminent, he is engaged in preparations alongside his cohort. On the eve of Apert, he and Fraa Lio were seen carrying their bowls into the kitchen, prompting several fids to follow; the movement took place under Grandsuur Tamura’s eye as fids quietly gathered. His sphere remains blemished from the earlier fire episode.
