Decenarian Math

First appearance and context

The Decenarian Math is described from within the concent during preparations for an impending Apert. Daily life here includes work in the New Library and the cadence of a towering clock that marks communal observances.

Role and function

  • Serves as the home of the Tenner cohort (the Decenarians), maintaining a nominal strength of about three hundred.
  • Plans to take in about forty new people at Apert to keep numbers steady. New entrants arrive via those graduating from the Unarian Math, direct Collection from extramuros, and infants taken in from hospitals and shelters.
  • A labyrinth connects the Unarian and Decenarian communities; exceptional One‑offs may pass early through it, though this is rare.

Relationships and references

  • Functionally linked to the Unarian community by the connecting labyrinth and by the regular flow of graduates at Apert.
  • Within the Concent of Saunt Edhar, the community participates in rites that culminate after Apert in Eliger, when Tenners choose or are bound to an order.

Current status

On the eve of Apert, the math is actively preparing to receive entrants and to support Tenner vows at Eliger; early passage through the labyrinth is possible but uncommon.

Summary:
